Gnars are a new way to fund extreme athletes
We prefer a world where kids aren't sold energy drinks by their heroes. So as a community of action sports enthusiasts, we've formed a DAO to rethink how extreme athletes get sponsored.
Gnars are NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain
Based on Nouns open source and CC0 artwork, they're stored fully on-chain with no external dependencies. Each one gets you a DAO vote and memberships are available at auction, forever.

That’s Gnarly
The thatsgnar.ly platform MVP has been live for nearly a week now! Vlad’s ‘Ode to Mark Gonzalez’ was voted as the first open edition to be minted on the platform and brought in 1.08 ETH! This is an additional 0.54 ETH deposited into the treasury and marks the beginning of a new era for Gnars DAO. We will continue exploring alternate streams of revenue and decentralized content curation by the community. This is just the beginning of the Revolution! Check out the daily drop at 9:30pm EST and tune into the new daily Gnars O’ Clock show celebrating the daily drop on The Noun Square!
First Gnars Droposal!
The first Gnars ‘droposal’ is live! Inspired by Nouns Proposal 190, this is the first NFT open edition launched by Gnars DAO via proposal. The mint will remain open for the next 3 days, so don’t miss your chance to mint a piece of history!

Carlos is a young athlete on the path to becoming a professional skier. He has been accepted by the Andorran Ski Federation and is going through his first FIS year (International Ski Federation). He is requesting 3 ETH to fund content creation, custom helmet artwork, and merch for him to join the Gnars team.

This proposal is seeking to commission 3 new tracks to be made by Lil Bubble. Lil Bubble will create 3 original tracks, artwork, and track stems, with each original track being available as an open edition mint at increasing prices.

Nico is a certified jet ski rescue operator with over 10 years of experience in nautical activities. He has been invited to be part of Carlos Burle’s rescue team and will be leading a class for advanced piloting of big waves and towing big wave surfers. He has participated in big wave championships pulling riders, worked with Red Bull and the World Surf League, and more. When not working with big waves, he is a teacher in a piloting school for boats and jetskis where he teaches basic certificate piloting and advanced water safety courses for the military, firefighters, and lifeguards.

This is the first “Droposal” coming from Gnars DAO! Inspired by Nouns Proposal 190, this photo will be released as a Timed Open Edition for a price of 0.015 ETH for a period of 7 days. Proceeds will be split between Gnars DAO, Kevin Kowalski (skater pictured), and Tim Aguilar (photographer).

Several new Builder DAO prop house rounds have gone live! These rounds are similar to the first rounds and include: DAO Incubator, Art Pack, and Memes & Marketing.
Fidelity has included a mention of Nouns’ appearance at the Rose Bowl in a recent investor newsletter! That might not seem major, but this is a large company and this newsletter has surely gone out to a lot of people, and that’s huge!
