Gnars are a new way to fund extreme athletes

We prefer a world where kids aren't sold energy drinks by their heroes. So as a community of action sports enthusiasts, we've formed a DAO to rethink how extreme athletes get sponsored.

Gnars are NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain

Based on Nouns open source and CC0 artwork, they're stored fully on-chain with no external dependencies. Each one gets you a DAO vote and memberships are available at auction, forever.

Even More Updates for That’s Gnarly

The Collective team has added collector profile pages where you can see how many editions a collector owns, how many athletes they’ve supported, their current voting power on the platform, and scroll their collection. Check out the screenshot from my profile below! They also updated the creations page to display submissions in an infinite scrolling UI rather than a grid. Another awesome new feature is shown in the top left, and highlights the number of athletes onboarded, how many collectors have supported athletes, and the total revenue generated by the platform since launch. With nearly 900 visionaries and over $7,000 raised in the first month, it’s safe to say ThatsGnar.ly has been a resounding success so far.

Noun 189 Skateboards are here!

Noun 189 head skateboards are now available on skateboard.wtf! Currently shipping costs are prohibitively expensive outside of the United States, but Gami is working on a solution to make these boards available worldwide. If you’re outside the US and interested, be sure to let him know.

Gnarving Coming Soon

Gas has been very high this week so we didn’t see many auctions get settled, but the gnarving continues to inch closer. The gnarving is when the duration of each auction doubles, and this time the auction duration is going to increase from 40 to 80 minutes. At the time of this writing, there are 185 auctions left. And don’t forget, the next gnarving will also mark the beginning of auction extensions and the end of sniping! Interested in learning more about how our auctions work? Head over to onboard.wtf.
