Gnars are a new way to fund extreme athletes
We prefer a world where kids aren't sold energy drinks by their heroes. So as a community of action sports enthusiasts, we've formed a DAO to rethink how extreme athletes get sponsored.
Gnars are NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain
Based on Nouns open source and CC0 artwork, they're stored fully on-chain with no external dependencies. Each one gets you a DAO vote and memberships are available at auction, forever.

Now that the event is over and the crew is all home and settled in, we should be seeing more updates and stories from the happenings at NFT Fest Australia like the nounish video below!
Proliferskating to 1M views and Beyond
Gnars athlete Tom Rohrer has grown his instagram account, Tom’s Tutorials, from 0 to over 61,000 followers in 12 weeks, and has already garnered over 1.5 million views to date. That’s a lot of eyes on the Noun 189 skateboard head!

Gami is always working on something awesome in the background and look what he’s managed to do now - Gnars and Mr Seaks in a Coinbase commercial!

Skatehive’s Decentralized Gnars DAO Sponsorship
Skatehive is a web3 skateboarding community on the Hive blockchain (formerly Steemit). This proposal is seeking to purchase and stake 3 ETH worth of Hive tokens, approximately 10,000 tokens at the time of writing. Hive allows for users to earn tokens from their content, and this decentralized sponsorship would help Gnars support content creators and athletes posting to Skatehive. This is a way for Gnars to support athletes and creators without actually needing to use funds from the treasury, as these staked funds will never leave the wallet and will actually grow over time. Sponsor Will Dias (Creative skateboarding)
This is a very interesting proposal that has been brought forth in the past week. Will Dias is not only a skateboarder, but also an extremely creative artist, and that really shows in the super unique content he creates. Please take the time to read through the proposal and watch the videos linked within, then get out and vote!
Sponsor children in need to surf via TPM, a Brazilian NGO
TPM (All to the Sea) is an NGO that emerged as a feminist collective in 2016, working with the community of the Bay of Maracaípe-PE. Since then it has been contributing to the personal and social development of children, adolescents and women, through social and educational activities, using surfing as their main tool. Currently they attend about 70 children from 7 to 17 years old with a team of 8 powerful women. The sponsorship funding will help TPM pay their monthly cost (rent, bills, school and surf supplies). And also educate them about web3, Gnars and Lil Nouns. And produce tons of gnartwork and nounish media, with board stickers, drawings, and glasses made of residue.

Gnarsauce Hot Sauce
A proposal asking for 0.69 ETH and Gnar 2767 from the treasury to facilitate the package design and cost of a test-batch of “Gnarsauce” - a gnars themed hot sauce to add flavor to your day. It’s perfect for those on fire trying to keep the flames stoked AND for cheering up those having a participation-trophy only type of day.

Locals Only Mural in Miami
Our very own Pin Pusher, who recently proposed and was funded to create the Locals Only short animation, will be painting a wall in Miami during his visit for Art Basel and feature some gnarly content. Photos will be coming next week so be sure to check back in!
